What each item in the sidebar is for, and why you may not see all of them.

Guide2 min readUpdated 1 October 2026

Everything lives in the left sidebar. What you see there depends on your role, so a member's sidebar is shorter than an administrator's. Nothing is wrong.

The main areas

  • Dashboard: your starting point. Members see their own hours, projects, tasks and recent screenshots. Administrators see the team, including who is working now, ongoing projects, productivity and a screenshot feed.
  • Members: everyone in the organization, plus pending invitations, join requests and people who have left.
  • Projects: the containers work is tracked against. Each has its own page with the team, tasks, time and finance.
  • Tasks: the task board for a project, with columns you drag cards between and a list view if you prefer rows.
  • Timesheet: recorded hours, by day or by month. This is where you correct an entry or add time you forgot.
  • Screenshots: captures taken while tracking, if your organization has them switched on.
  • Apps & URLs: which applications and sites time was spent in, grouped as productive, neutral, unproductive, communication or learning.
  • Reports: Time & Activity, Project, Project Finance and Member Finance.
  • Invoices: what clients owe for projects, and what the organization owes members for their hours.
  • Get Desktop App: the download page for Windows and macOS.
  • Settings: organization-wide configuration, for administrators.

Why something is missing

Three reasons, in order of likelihood.

  1. Your role does not include it. Permissions are set per role, so an item you cannot use is hidden instead of shown greyed out.
  2. Your plan does not include it. Some features are tied to the subscription. Where that is the case you usually see a lock and an upgrade link instead of nothing at all.
  3. You are a client. The Client role sees a small set of pages, limited to the projects you have been attached to.

Switching organizations

If you belong to more than one organization, the switcher sits at the top of the page. Everything on screen belongs to the organization currently selected, so check the switcher first if the numbers look unfamiliar.
