Read your timesheet

Daily and monthly views, what the timeline bar shows, and how overtime is worked out.

Guide1 min readUpdated 1 October 2026

Open Timesheet from the sidebar. It has two views and they answer different questions.

The daily view

One day at a time, entry by entry. Each row shows the project, the task, the start and end times, the duration and the activity level. A timeline bar across the top shows where in the day those entries fell, so a gap in the middle of the afternoon is obvious at a glance.

Manual entries are labelled as such. So are entries against a project that has since been closed.

The monthly view

A calendar of totals with a chart, for answering "how much did I do this month" instead of "what did I do on Tuesday". Click any day to drop into the daily view for it.

Totals and overtime

Overtime is worked out as:

Overtime = total time minus required time, never less than zero.

  • Total time is tracked time plus manual entries for the period, with overlapping ranges merged so nothing is counted twice.
  • Required time is the hours-per-day your organization has configured, multiplied by the number of working days in the period. Days outside your work week contribute nothing to the requirement.

So a five-day week at eight hours a day requires forty, and forty-three tracked means three hours of overtime. Working a Saturday adds to your total but not to the requirement, because a non-working day requires nothing.

Whose timesheet you are looking at

Members see their own. Anyone with permission over other people's time can switch member from the filter at the top. If the filter is not there, your role covers only your own hours.

Entries flagged for review

An entry longer than your organization's daily maximum is marked as exceeding the limit and left out of totals until somebody looks at it. It usually means a timer that ran overnight. Correct it and it re-joins the totals.
